Hi Everyone,

My name is Russell and I’m still setting up the blog, but I’ll be going on a journey through the world of hand crafted pens, pencils and accessories, with maybe some digression into other areas of handcrafted wood turning and other hand made items.

There’ll also be some information on the history, culture, mechanics and not so mechanics of pens throughout history, now, and into the future. If it has something to do with writing implements, I’ll probably touch on it sometime.

I’ve been making items from wood for many years, most notably Boomerangs and Intarsia, but I’ve discovered a passion for hand made, fine crafted wooden and polyester resin pens, which I will be selling on my penaffair.com web site. However, the blog will not be focused on my pen web site, it’ll be about the world of pens in general - mine, yours, other pen crafters, or even Leonardo Da Vinci’s if we can find it.

We’ll be celebrating the joy of the written word and it’s recording in ink for posterity, in all its many forms. I hope you can join me on this journey and give me some valuable feedback on what you like or don’t like about what I have to say, and maybe we can all learn something along the way.

Please be patient while I continue settings things up here, and hope you can all join me again when we get into the meaty stuff and really find out about why we should keep on writing in our world that seems to be coming more virtual every day.
